Chili sin carne



One of my preferred recipes for red beans - ideal during the cold winter months


For four people

Prep: 30 minutes

Cooking time: 1:15



  • 150 d of dry red beans or 300 gr of cooked red beans  
  • 500 g of peeled tomatoes
  • 140gr or one small can of canned corn
  • 2 handfuls of textured soy
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano powder
  • salt
  • pepper
  • olive oil



  • Soak the beans for 12 hours.
  • Chop the onion and garlic.
  • Cook the red beans for 45 minutes (if they are not cooked), then discard the cooking water.
  • Add water, peeled tomatoes, soy, corn, onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • Cook for 30 to 45 minutes (until the beans are cooked) Stir occasionally and add water if necessary.
  • Serve preferably with rice
